If you have any questions about the show that is not covered below, you are more than welcome to contact us via the Contact Us page.
- What time does the show start? The gates will be open at around 9.30am & you can enter the show classes from this time.
- How Many Show Rings will there be? Due to the high number of Pedigree Class entries at the 2009 show, there was a delay in getting the novelty classes started so for the 2010 show the Novelty classes will be held in a separate ring. Ring 1 will be for the Pedigree Class (showing starts at 10.30), Ring 2 for Novelty (11.00) & Ring 3 for the GSD Rally (10.30).
- Is there an entry fee for the show? There is no entry fee as such although there is a £1 voluntary entrance fee payable at the gate, there is no charge for car parking
- Can I enter the classes before the Show? Yes, online entry will be available and we recommend using this option where possible, entry forms will also be available to download so these can be printed and you can bring these with you, should you prefer?
- Does Barking Mayhem make a profit from the show? No, there are of course unavoidable fees we need to pay to enable the show to go ahead but all profits are shared between our chosen charities, all organisers & helpers do so on a voluntary basis.
- What Breeds of dog can take part in Barking Mayhem? Barking Mayhem is for all dogs. There are some classes for specific breeds and pedigrees but there are many classes that can be entered by all dogs, regardless of breed/cross-bread, sex or size.
- Does my Dog need to be registered with the Kennel Club to enter? No, although generally the classes will be judged as per Kennel club rules and regulations, dogs are not required to be registered with the Kennel Club
- How much does it cost to enter each class? Entry is £1.50 per class, you can enter as many classes as you wish, as long as it is a class suitable for your dog
- Can I enter even if I haven't been to a show before? Yes of course, the judges and stewards will explain what you need to do when in the ring. If you are unsure which classes will suit you or your dog you can either contact us via this website or come along on the day and ask one of the Barking Mayhem staff
- Will the judges touch my dog in the classes? Yes, especially in the Pedigree ring as these classes are judged to Kennel Club standards so your dogs body may be touched including teeth, legs etc. For the safety of the Judge please be confident that this will not be too stressful or uncomfortable for your dog. It is unlikey that your dog will be touched within the Novelty classes but please ask if you are unsure.
- Do I have to enter before the showing starts. Entries will be open for most of the day and entries will close on an individual class basis, this means that you will be able to enter for each class up until approx 10 mins before that class starts.
- If I do not wish to take part in the show classes, is Barking Mayhem for me? Yes of course, as well as the show classes, there are plenty of games and activities for you and your dogs to take part in, Barking Mad Dog Training School will be hosting these games and there will be something for all dogs.
- How is Barking Mayhem Associated to Barking Mad Dog Training school? Barking Mayhem is held within the grounds of Barking Mad and is otherwise not connected. Barking Mad will be running & providing some facilities on the day
- I am intereted in taking my dog to Barking Mad Dog Training School, can I talk to someone on the day? Although we are not connected in this way, we expect that Barking Mad will have very many of their trainers in attendance, as they did at the 2009 show so you should be able to discuss your training requirements and view the facilities.
- Why is there a ring just for German Shepherds? It is quite common for companion dog shows to have a breed specific ring, based on the preference of the organisers and this is the case for Barking Mayhem, however there are 2 other rings that are available to all Breeds of dog.
-Is Barking Mayhem insured? Yes Barking Mayhem will be fully insured and licensed, certificates will be displayed on the day.
